Pinelopi & Kiri's Traditional Greek Wedding
i don’t think we’ll get tired of shooting at this beautiful church
Both P&K got ready in their own respective spaces with their own immediate families on the morning of their wedding. I’m always surprised (read: suspicious) when we walk into a home and things are calm and collected but both households were really just hanging out with no pressure and no rush. When they told us they were getting married at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Scarborough we were so thrilled, it’s such a stunning church with amazing light even on an overcast day. Some of our favourite photos of the day are from the church, the little moment of Kiri’s dad lighting a candle before the ceremony, the balcony view during the ceremony, and then the excitement of them stepping out into a crow of their favourite people after the ceremony. While for the most part we’re trying to be mindful of not being in each others way, not being in the way of guests, and overall trying our best to be a fly on the wall, I love how intrusive we can be with traditional Greek weddings, it’s actually even encouraged! We always encourage 2 photographers with Greek weddings, especially during the ceremony, to have one person fixed on stage (since the couple is turned inwards with their backs towards guests) and another person working the aisles, capturing guest reactions, and other unique angles.

Following the ceremony we made our way to Kortright Centre for Conservation
to take their family photos and portraits. The last time we were here with Camille & Myles we wanted to look for the iconic evenly spaced tree area that everyone goes to, but we couldn’t find it! So this time when we arrived the first thing we did was ask where it was (through a very funny and weird way of explaining it lol) and let us tell you in case you too are looking for it: It’s right at the front! There’s a small, visible, trail opening right by the entry station, and it’s a few steps right in there! So easy and so accessible. Unfortunately we didn’t have a bright, clear, day like we always hope for but it was no worry, it was still such a beautiful portrait session with them.
Their reception was held at the hazelton manor in Vaughan where ~130 of their favourite people joined them for dinner and celebrations. Along with your typical canapés during cocktail hour there was also a really delicious set of appetizers in the reception space that even featured a chef freshly grilling saganaki! P&K had a beautiful head table to themselves decorated with lots of flowers and candles.
