time seems to stand still…
During wedding ceremonies that take place in Toronto. The busy streets are hustling and bustling by, people are running their errands and going about their lives, traffic flows, birds sing… but behind the doors of a quaint little chapel, two people are coming together to celebrate their love. And as wedding photographers in Toronto, we get to capture it.
As much as we love photographing weddings in Muskoka, cottage country, Haliburton, and northern Ontario, have we talked about how wonderful Toronto is to shoot weddings and engagement sessions? We’ve even travelled all the way to Greece to photograph a destination wedding, but nothing seems to compare to home. No matter the weather, or time of year, there are truly some magnificent spots that can be found all year round. Whether there’s freshly bloomed cherry blossoms at High Park, or a crisp snowfall in the Distillery District- Toronto is home to the most eclectic mixture of neighbourhoods and diverse communities.
Rosewood Studios has been operating for 8 years now, and we’re still completely blown away every single time we photograph weddings at a venue, restaurant, chapel, backyard, hall, or estate in Toronto for the first time. There is so much history and beauty in each and every space.
Our personal favourite weddings, even before the COVID-19 restrictions and the pandemic, have always been smaller and more intimate weddings in non-traditional spaces. We shot a lovely little wedding ceremony and reception at the Drake Hotel Cafe on Queen St. W that we will never forget. The intimacy between the couple and their guests was unmatched. Another favourite of ours was a wedding that we photographed at the George Restaurant on Queen St. E, beside The VERITY. We also recently shot a large outstanding Desi and Hindu wedding at The Symes that was unforgettable. It ended off our wedding season for that year perfectly.
When our clients have their wedding ceremonies and receptions in smaller, non-traditional spaces in Toronto, that’s when we’re able to do our best work. Everything feels magical, and we’re able to be creative with the space that we’re in and how the space reflects each of our clients. Toronto is an incredible location for any wedding, large or small.
