Kelsey & Grant's Sunset Engagement at Trillium Park
Third time’s the charm for this rescheduled engagement session, and oh boy was it worth it!
As beautiful as fall is the weather this time of year can be extra finicky and we unfortunately get more cloudy and rainy days than we do bright and sunny ones. We had scheduled this session for an evening that ended up being cloudy, raining, brightening up again for a second before raining again, then suddenly I saw a whole bunch of rainbow posts from friends across the city. We rescheduled for the following week and it was just flat out raining all day, I don’t even think we needed to email each other to say “let’s reschedule” but we did anyways haha. And finally, on our third attempt we got a beautiful weekend evening with a little bit of a chill but perfectly clear skies and a bright and beautiful sunset! Score!
When it comes to engagement sessions we like to say to couples: When we have the flexibility to reschedule a shoot to a better day, let’s do it! When your wedding day rolls around, if it’s cloudy, grey, and raining we’re not going to say “sorry we can’t shoot today the weather isn’t great” but with your engagement session we have that ability, so why choose a kind of crappy day when we can wait it out for a beautiful day when everything will truly truly truly look that much better?
And that’s what happened with K&G and we’re so thankful for their patience! We want to give you the best photos possible and to us, if that means waiting it out then that’s what it means. Promise us when we say it will make a world of a difference in not just your photos but in your experience during and after! Kelsey and Grant were so excited and eager for their session— so much so I absolutely loathe sending that “I think we should reschedule” message those couple of times— and being excited and eager for photos makes such a difference in how we connect (because we’re excited too!) and how the photos turn out; your happiness, excitement, and love comes pouring out of you and becomes oh so evident in your photos, it’s a really, truly, a magical thing.

PS. If you couldn’t tell, these two were so wonderful and funny to hangout with, and we all had a ton of fun! With everything happening in the world it was such a refreshing (emotionally, mentally, and temperature wise lol) evening to spend with two incredible humans, and I so appreciated their simple message afterwards: “Thank you so much. We talked about how much fun we had all the way home”
