Jessica & Michael's Waterfront Engagement Session

We’ve said it once (ok like 100x at this point), and we’ll say it again: sunset at the waterfront is our power combo

You cannot, and will not ever go wrong with shooting your engagement, couple’s, even family session at sunrise or sunset at the waterfront. This is truly our happy place. Give us a small beachfront opening, or give us an entire park like the one we spent an evening with Jessica & Michael in, and we. will. be. SO. happy.

When thinking about your engagement session location we always like to suggest choosing somewhere sentimental to you, this way you will have an added layer of meaning to your photos. This could be where the proposal happened, your local neighbourhood park you take a stroll through every night, your first date spot, etc. Alternatively, choosing somewhere that is beautiful and fits your vibe is always an option too and we are more than eager to help find that perfect spot for you. And spoiler: it will likely be a waterfront park ;)

Some of our favourite places in Toronto are: Woodbine Beach, Cherry Beach, Col. Sam Smith Park. Some of our favourite places in Vancouver are: Second & Third Beach, Kitsilano Beach, Spanish Banks Beach, Porteau Cove (Squamish). And some of our dreeeaaam waterfront locations to shoot at would be in: Tofino, Greece, Portugal, Mexico, Hawai’i

Ok now back to Jessica & Michael: we spent an evening with them to capture their excitement and love, and we are so thrilled for their wedding later this winter. Their giddiness, joy, and overall openness to be themselves (silliness and all) was beyond a pleasure to photograph and made our job so so easy. This session also really reflects our overall style of shooting too; it’s a combination of both documentary and editorial style photography, while still being fun and beautiful! There are lots of candid captures, but there are also moments where we used more guidance for posing that make photos feel more glamorous, you know? We love it!
