If you think you can’t look effortlessly chic at your wedding on one of the hottest days of summer, iulia & Khash are here to prove you wrong…
When wedding planning so far in advance the only thing you can’t plan for is the weather. You can make a plan B & C & D for inclement weather, but dictating what the weather will actually be months, even years, in advance is anybody’s guess. The best you can hope for is a beautiful sunny day but what happens when you get more than you asked for? Like 30+ degree weather with barely there clouds and minimal shade cover? Well here’s what Iulia & Kahsh did: they hydrated, took breaks, and embraced it! There’s so much you can’t control— on your wedding day, in life— that really sometimes you just have to be like “it is what it is, let’s enjoy it” and enjoy it they did. We tried as much as we could to shoot in shady-er locations, we made sure everyone had water on hand, the Parkwood team even brought over some gatorade and bottled water in coolers for guests, and we took breaks as needed. As tight as timelines can be on wedding days our priority is making sure everyone is ok, more than getting our shot list completed… not to toot our own horn tho but did we both at this wedding ;)
Apart from the heat everything about Iulia & Khash’s wedding was so beautiful; it was their 10 year anniversary together, everyone was beyond happy for them, and everything about their day felt easy, lighthearted, and fun! We had some time to romp around Parkwood Estates both before and after their ceremony where we were able to shoot some stunnnning portraits and family photos. The ceremony itself took place in the middle of the estates so in walking over guests had an opportunity to explore the incredible grounds themselves.

it’s no secret that sunset photos are our favourite
We literally plan shoots around the perfect sunset (it makes a difference!!) so when we saw the big, open, field at their reception venue we immediate said helllllll yes! Everything for the rest of the day went off without a hitch, including shooting even more portraits both inside and out. While it is by no means necessary to take this many portraits, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention how fun it was! It’s not only a great way for us to work our creative muscles and make couples feel glamorous and chic, but it’s a great opportunity for you to take some time to yourselves! At receptions especially couples are always trying to spend time with their guests (understandably!) and hardly have time for themselves, so if you ever need an excuse to step away from everything feel free say “oh we have to step out to take some photos” as an excuse, even if it’s just 5 minutes of photo taken together and 10 minutes of some time to yourselves ;)
