Claire & Kris’ Modern Wedding at the AGO
if there’s one wedding that felt like #weddinggoals this season, it’s definitely this one
From the amazing couple, incredible venue, suuuuuper chic decor, even the vendor team, this wedding was such a dream to photograph, everything about Claire & Kris’ day was so spectacular and beyond beautiful. The AGO definitely feels like a top tier venue in the city (just us who think this?) and after seeing so many of our peers shoot here to say we were excited to finally get our chance to bring a wedding to life in this iconic space too is an understatement!
The morning started with Claire & Kris getting ready with their respective family and friends (and friends who are family). We are so used to chaos and high energy on the morning of a wedding but stepping foot into Kris’ family home, and Claire’s hotel room at The Hilton there was excitement in the air, but it was definitely a calm one. If you’re in the wedding industry or you’ve been a part of a wedding beginning to end (read: anyone on the bride’s team lol) you know what we mean. Claire gave us a sneak peek of her Narces wedding dress shortly before her wedding but seeing it in person, then later seeing her in it, and thennn seeing it changed into a short cocktail dress after dinner, were all beautifully different experiences and w o w there are truly no words for amazing she looked.
We had such a blast exploring the AGO with Claire & Kris after their first look, I think we could have done it for hours if there was more time. Our favourite part being a styled bridal party portrait in the Henry Moore Sculpture Centre. Unlike most weddings we see at the gallery, typically the wedding ceremony is held in Walker Court and the reception on the upper level, but Claire & Kris opted for the opposite. Joey Butta of White Oak Florist Co. created the most spectacular circle of flowers that served as an ‘alter’ with guests seated the length of the aisle. It was such a unique experience for all!

We simply must take a moment for this decor
What kind of magic is it when you nail the Pantone colour of the year as one of your wedding colours right before Pantone even announces the colour of the year?! We were (are) obbbbssseessed with the mint green + peach fuzz colour palette of the day, truly two colours I never would have thought to put together, but something that Kiera and her team tastefully put together in such a chic way that felt both modern and retro at the same time. As mentioned before, we typically see wedding ceremonies in Walker Court, but Claire & Kris’ opted for the opposite for their day, having their reception in grand, open space. We loooved the opportunity to use all of the surrounding staircases and overhead landings to shoot unique angles throughout the night. As expected the evening was spent with good food, better company, and fun music and dancing for all!
