Camille & Myles' Halloween Wedding
When we left at the end of the night we said to each other “this is exactly how we wanted to end our season”
With a beautiful couple, with the nicest friends, the warmest family, and truly the most incredible decor! Because this was our last wedding of the season I kept pushing when to email Camille & Myles to check in about their plans. Restrictions kept changing and COVID was ever evolving so honestly it didn’t make sense to ask what their plans were in June when by July it would be a completely different thing and then a whole other thing again in August. About a month before their wedding we finally did it, we said “hey, sooo about your wedding?” (but in better words) and we got their plan. A couple of weeks later restrictions changed again and that plan was out the door. In the span of 1-1.5weeks they pivoted what was going to be their big wedding at a hall in Vaughan, to a small wedding at a hall in Vaughan, to a backyard wedding at Camille’s parents house not too far from said hall in Vaughan.
Interestingly Ethan and I (Stef) haven’t met Camille and Myles IRL, Hannah and I were scheduled to shoot their wedding together which means we were planning to shoot their engagement together too. When their engagement rolled around I ended up being wickedly sick with no voice so Hannah shot it herself and absolutely nailed it! Hannah had to take some time off this season so with her not being able to shoot, Ethan stepped in but since he wasn’t scheduled to shoot with them he too hadn’t met them in person yet. Through a series of emails, Instagram chats, and mostly lurking their 15/10 goob girl, Lulu it actually felt like we had already known them and when we showed up on their wedding day it’s almost like we picked up from our last IG conversation the day before.
Things were calm in the morning with Myles at their apartment and Camille at a hotel part way between their apartment and their venue (her parents backyard). In classic wedding fashion things were running a little behind schedule (possibly with the guys leaving the apartment later than scheduled? but you didn’t hear that from me haha). C+M both wrote each other letters that they privately read in their hotel room before having their first look. It was so nice for them to have this little moment with just each other before heading out to Kortright for their bridal party photos + portraits.
Funny enough when we got to Kortright none of us were sure where the classic evenly spaced trees are (you know what I mean) so we took a walk into the forest and set up shop on the a random but nice trail. Ethan spotted a set of pine trees that were down/low to the ground and despite not looking like the best spot for photos in person, they turned out so beautifully!

While technically the rest of the wedding was happening at Camille’s parent’s house
The tent they rented took up majority of their backyard space so their neighbours kindly offered their own backyard space for the ceremony set up. If the weather was inclement the backup option was to do it inside the reception space and simply push the tables and chairs to the side. It was cold out (too cold to not be wearing a jacket but Camille and her girls pulled through like absolute champs!) but the weather held so they did it in their neighbour’s backyard; short, sweet, and full of emotional warmth!
We thought the decor in the tent was incredible as is but when Camille’s bridesmaids started putting the final touches on everything as we were taking family photos next door, we. were. BLOWN AWAY! Bridesmaid Rachel described it as “Halloween, but pretty” and that’s exactly what it is was! Not too overdone, not tacky, and not too in your face but just the right touches to make it prominent in a tasteful way. When we complimented Camille about this she said “well if it was up to me it’d be full blown Halloween in there.” The rest of the evening was spent mingling, eating, and drinking. Before we left for the night C+M did their cake cutting and first dances; a lovely one together, an emotional one with Camille and her dad (to her grandfather’s song, which btw Camille’s dad wore a beautiful pendant on his suit jacket with a photo of him- you can see that in the grid down below), and a surprise dance with Myles and his mom to That’s Amore.
