I wasn’t sure if anything could top our epic editorial engagement session together, but Alicia & Austin really out did themselves at their wedding
But seriously, this is truly one of my favourite engagement sessions that I will be referencing to anyone who is looking for a glamorous, ultra cool, trendy but timeless feel for their photos. So, how could it get any better you ask? Let me tell you: their wedding took place at Austin’s brother’s incredible property in Trent Lakes (a few minutes away from their own), it was so emotional, there was perfect weather, everyone, especially Alicia & Austin, looked beautiful, and honestly there was just the best best best vibe all day and all night long.
We started the morning with Alicia getting ready with her girls at home where she read a letter from Austin (cue tears), had her soon to be MIL dress her (cue more tears), all before having an emotional first look with the groom to be (cue all of the tears). We couldn’t have asked for better weather, the sun was shining in the most perfect way that made all of their photos look like they were glowing! They had only their closest 60 friends and family there to celebrate with them, but the energy that everyone carried all day long really made it feel like it was a 120 person wedding.

so many of our favourite weddings are ones that take place at home
Being somewhere meaningful to you really makes the whole experience, including your photos, special including adding personal touches through decor, and in this case I was obsessed with the book wall that they created! Alicia is a fervent book reader, so much so when we shot their engagement session in August of the previous year she had read 45 books by that point with no sight of slowing down. Austin is a big car guy having recently purchased and restored his first vintage Mustang, they brought the car to their engagement session (TBH we centered the shoot around the car, rightfully so) and they also had it at their wedding. These personal elements that are so easily recognizable as ‘them’ really brings such a unique and fun aspect to their decor that I (along with others, I’m sure) loved!
They had a classic and timeless tent set up for their reception (a great option in case of inclement weather), and had such a fun catering crew come in who made fresh stone fired pizzas for everyone! It was no surprise given the vibe and energy of the day that the dancefloor was everyone was letting loose in the best way possible— everyone, and I mean everyone, was on there dancing it out! It was such a fun end to such a magical day!
