Steph & Alex's Lake Simcoe Wedding
this is easily one of the most beautiful private properties we’ve ever been on
So much so that it didn’t even feel like a private property, but rather a full on professional venue right on Lake Simcoe. Steph and Alex both got ready on the property in separate spaces, and they had the loveliest first look together at one of many picture perfect spots. Our biggest takeaway from their engagement session is how bubbly these two are; Steph is all smiles and giggles and Alex is the most gentle giant (he’s really tall lol!)
As beautiful as fall weddings are we sometime teeter into finicky weather as the long summer days wind down, but we really lucked on their wedding day with perfect weather and even a beautiful sunset in the evening! They had set up their ceremony outdoors by the water, against a rock facade (at another picture perfect location), and I think once we got outside we spent the rest of our day out there!
Steph and Alex opted for the non-traditional route of doing a first look, Steph with her bridesmaids first, followed by group photos with everyone who was on the property. We absolutely loved Alex’s genuinely shocked and mesmerized reaction seeing Steph walking down the steps— she truly did look that beautiful! We love first looks not just for the emotional impact of the moment, but they make a lot of sense logistically; since you’ve seen each other before the ceremony that means we can also knock out some of your group photos ahead of time and not save one giant list for afterwards. This was a big wedding. with a big bridal party, and even more family members so being able to do that was a big help!

a tent was installed in the property
Which is a great weather proof option for your reception. Dinner was celebratory with a high energy hora, and before sitting down we took a brief moment to take a few sunset photos on the dock. Steph and Alex made their rounds chatting and drinking with guests. They had the most amazing polka dancers come in and perform, and then ended the night with lots of dancing and mingling. Everyone was ear to ear smiling all through the evening, it is so clear at how happy everyone is for these two!
