A Holiday Proposal with Kwasi & Imaa
Holiday season could easily be called ‘engagement season’ with the number of proposals that happen between christmas and new years
Don’t even get me started on Valentines Day lol. To say it’s a festive time of year is an understatement, and (I think) having a break or slow period from work or school, having gatherings with out of town family and friends, and in general it just being a joyous and magical season rightfully encourages what we like to call engagement season. Shortly after the New Year all the way to just after Valentines Day, our inboxes are f l o o d e d with newly engaged couples looking for a formal engagement session to celebrate this exciting time in their lives, or folks who are jumping head first into wedding planning and are now ready to find their wedding photographer. We love it so much!!
When we connected with Kwasi he already had his plan put together for where, when, and how he was going to propose to Imaa; we love a man with a plan! We equally loved chatting with him because we really got to feel how excited and giddy he was leading up it. And then being able to capture the love, emotion, and joy, they both felt as everything was happening was truly such an honour.
Sometimes no matter how much you plan and prepare for something, there could be a liiiittle hitch that throws everything off and for Kwasi’s proposal it was that the road into the main parking lot was closed for the season, meaning they would have to walk ~5 minutes to where he wanted propose, but we weren’t sure if he knew and we didn’t quite have a way of asking without being suspicious. Somehow Kwasi’s friends who arrived early to bring a few props managed to subtly, not subtly, let him know of the change and as they were walking in I was able subtly not subtly point to our new location. In the end everything worked out, and when we were chit chatting about it afterwards they both had a good laugh about the chaos.
