Emily & Tyler's Waterfront Sunset Engagement
it feels like every time we come here it gets more and more beautiful
It was actually fairly overcast through the day and even as we started shooting, but the sun was coming in and out of the clouds (and it was unseasonably warm, who know how long that lasts in November) so we decided to push for shooting anyways, and it was so worth it! Emily & Tyler brought both their dog, Tobi, and friends with them to this session. When couples bring their dog(s)— which we love and highly highly encourage btw— we also suggest bringing a friend or even your dog walker along, this way your dog is taken care of in the moments that you don’t want them in photos (which let’s be real is more often than not, but also not always, you know?)
The park was the busiest it has been in all of the times we’ve shot here this year (see: Trista & Dan, Meagan & Nelson, Camille & Myles) so finding spaces that were more private or without people in the background was a little more difficult than usual, and ordinarily would be a little intimidating for a camera-shy couple, but Emily & Tyler did so well and were so natural in front of the camera it didn’t matter! As we continued strolling along through the park the sun finally broke through as it was setting and w o w was it stunning! Even the few moments before when the skies over Toronto were dark and there was a little sliver of sunlight coming through and we were able to create these beautiful, dramatic, portraits that I love! We spent the rest of the time basking in the sunset and then exploring the Humber College grounds and field, and yes, even taking a moment to run and play with Tobi ;)
