Alex & Giselle's Waterfront Engagement Session

you know those people who you just meet but seem to get along with so effortlessly, it’s like you’ve always known them?

Alex and Giselle are like that for us; they’re warm, inviting, funny, light hearted, and (most importantly) in love. When we first got their inquiry for their wedding what stood out to us was their description of what they want their day to be, saying that they’re “planning a celebration focusing on love, family and friends and not so much frills” and truly, how could we not love them based solely off of that? We have so been looking forward to learning more about them IRL so when we started planning their engagement session we were super excited! They decided on a waterfront location in their home city of Oakville, a perfect backdrop considering they’re both from the area (after travelling for so many years they both found their way back) and (like us!!) they met each other at Sheridan College, when they were both apart of the Gay Straight Alliance group and (like us too) have been together ever since.

Though fall is one of our favourite times of the year to shoot this time of year also proves to be finicky with too many rainy and grey days which means asking for a lot of flexibility and patience with rescheduling. At the end of the day your engagement photos are your photos but we always want to give the best to our couples and if that means waiting weeks (yes, weeks) for a nice clear evening, then so be it! A&G were superstars in open to this and it. paid. off! We were so happy to have a clear evening with a beautiful sunset to walk around Burloak Waterfront Park, and the photos are *chefs kiss*, as you’ll see!
