Wendy & Stephen's Wedding at the George Restaurant in Toronto

There’s so much about Wendy & Stephen’s wedding that we love

From their 30 person guest list to the incredible menu, to having everything (getting ready, first look, ceremony, reception) in 1 convenient and beautiful location, to how inviting and intimate their family and friends were… we wish the night never ended!

The George Restaurant is one of Wendy & Stephen’s favourite spots in the city, they adore the atmosphere and even more so the chef- Executive Chef Lorenzo Loseto. Pair that with The Verity- a women’s only club that features a ton of amazing amenities + a 4 suite hotel- and it makes the perfect venue/reception/catering/accommodation package you can get in the heart of Toronto! We clicked with these two right off of the bat and immediately felt excited by their wedding even before we knew too many details.

On the day of the weather was perfect, these two looked so perfect, and everything went off exactly as planned without a hitch! So hard to believe right, when does that ever happen on a wedding day?! We were lucky enough to have shot their engagement photos at The Verity so we immediately knew where we wanted to do everything- we did the first look away from everyone upstairs, couple portraits outside, and most importantly we knew how to quickly navigate around the two spaces!

When the time came for their ceremony, Wendy was walked down the aisle by her son & daughter

And everyone gathered around the dining room to watch the happy couple exchange their vows; it was short, sweet, and extremely heartfelt. A perk to having two photographer shooting- and especially for this ceremony considering how dark the room was- is that we got to shoot with both flash and ambient light without missing any moments because we were shooting at the same time! Flash is always our go to with dim lighting but sometimes we enjoy the grain and film like feeling we get when we shoot dark and bring back light in post-production (honestly, if you looked at the back of our camera at the non-flash photos you’d wonder what we were even shooting haha).

Since their wedding was a smaller group we decided to do a group photo immediately following the ceremony and then naturally transitioned into the family and group photos before heading back in for cocktail hour. Dinner was easily one of the most delicious meals we’ve had at a wedding and it was broken up with heartfelt speeches given by family and friends. Our absolute favourite part of the evening though is when their friend and MC brought out a hula hoop for guests to play with. Seriously the funniest thing we’ve ever seen, we were in tears from laughing so hard! The hula hoop fortunately stayed out long into the night and even found its way out onto the dancefloor where things turned into a hula hoop dance off!
