Van & John's Toronto City Hall Wedding

Truly the best way to start Van & John’s story is by first apologizing for so many photos

We were with Van & John from sunrise to sunset and even a couple of years later it is still so difficult to narrow down just a few of our favourite photos to feature in a blog post!

As with 99.9% of our couples we first "met" Van + John online when they submitted their inquiry- even through our first email interactions with them, we almost instantly knew they were going to be someone we'd love. A couple of weeks later when we met them in Burlington for coffee one evening, everything we thought about them over email was confirmed IRL because they were (and are) just as amazing in person.

On their wedding day we met them at the Sheraton Hotel right across from Nathan Phillips Square where Van and her family were getting ready. While most people will have a rough outline of their day, Van prepared a laminated schedule timed to the minute of everything that was happening throughout the day; our inner neat freaks were so. thrilled. To no one's surprise, everything ran on or ahead of schedule all day long which has been the only time this has happened in all our years of shooting, believe it or not!

Following the morning ceremony and couples session we took a small break for a lunch and reconvened in Markham where Van & John took over one of their favourite spots for their reception.

Asides from having a killer 9 course meal (in typical Asian fashion) the most memorable parts of the night were  V + J singing for their guests in the middle of dinner, John surprise solo serenading Van with his guitar (that they got all of the guests to sign, instead of your typical book), and how family oriented everyone was; from when guests first arrived they immediately got a photo with the new couple and we also went table to table to take photos with guests again- no one was ever missed!
