Holiday Family Session at Mint Room Studios
It feels like we haven’t shot a maternity session in forever so when C asked us to shoot hers, we were so excited!
We were originally planning to shoot at Kortright but with the weather changing so quickly and the fact that this wasn’t just a maternity session but also a family session with C&T’s young daughter we didn’t want anyone to get sick and be uncomfortable out in the cold. Our back up plan was finding a studio to shoot at and C immediately suggested Mint, which was so perfect because they had just set up their holiday studios! It was cold and dreary when we arrived- is there any winter day in Toronto that isn’t like this?!- but the studio was warm and inviting with little A running everywhere and C putting on her final touches before we began shooting.
We’re not sure if radiant, beautiful, absolutely perfect are the right adjectives to describe how wonderful C looked but you get what we mean, right? Her silk dress- which funnily enough matched the prop couch in the studio- fell over her belly so perfectly and it complimented the white walls and even the holiday set up in the room! There’s truly nothing more that we love than a glowing mama to be so we snuck in a few solo portraits of her before we brought her husband and daughter in. We were so thrilled when we showed a few photos on the backs of our cameras C said “Yes! This is exactly what I wanted!!” :’)
