Kirstie & Jackie's Summer Wedding at The Beaches

if you were to describe someone by saying “kind, down to earth, warm, charismatic” we would think of kirstie & jackie

If you’re a frequent reader of our blog you’ll know that we regularly express how much we love our couples and how we connect with them and feel like they’re ‘our people’. It’s not hyperbole, I swear it’s true! It’s taken us a while to really find our voice and lean into our style of shooting (both our photography style + approach to seeking out and connecting with our clients) and all of the years later it feels like we continue to strike gold and it is truly the best feeling! It makes the world of a difference feeling like we’re on the same page with our couples and like we could be friends :’) And really, truly, that is what working with Kirstie & Jackie was like beginning to end. From spending the morning together at the beach for their engagement session, to chats about our reactive dogs (hi Joey, hi Razzie!), to seeing them celebrate with their nearest and dearest, tears, laughter, and everything in between!

There were a couple of small hiccups leading up to their wedding day including a venue change, but if the panorama has taught us anything it’s how to quickly pivot. Both K&J got ready in their own rooms at the BROADVIEW HOTEL— btw if you’re in the east end and need a stunnnning hotel to get ready in the morning, or even to get married in, and you choose here pls bring us along!— we wanted to shoot around the hotel more but with another wedding happening we were limited to doing their first look in their room, and then heading to Woodbine Park for group photos and portraits. No complaints though because both looked so beautiful and were so much fun.

Both their wedding ceremony and reception were held at Rorschach Brewery, an LGBTQ+ friendly brewery in the east end. They had an intimate ceremony up on the roof deck, taco dinner with everyone in the middle of brewery— beer toasts included— and then went back upstairs to end the evening dancing the night away. This really was an ideal wedding for u and hit all of our favourite buzzwords: low key, celebratory, emotional, beautiful, filled with so much joy and so much laughter. We would love to redo this day over and over again if we could :’)
