Jodie & Jordi's Uptown Wedding at Auberge du Pommier

after planning and replanning their wedding, jodie & jordi finally tied the knot with their nearest and dearest at auberge du pommier

We spent time with both Jodie & Jordi in the morning, capturing the last little bits of each of them getting ready. While Jordie and his sons were a bit quieter, Jodie’s home was packed with her immediate family, both young and old, putting their final make up touches on, and getting dressed. The intimate solo portraits of Jodie in her Madison James gown are some of our favourite bridal portraits! We know how uncomfortable being in front of the camera is, and it’s certainly even more weird when you’re getting photos of just yourself, but we love of the idea of having your own individual portrait taken on your wedding day! When have you ever been, or when will you ever be, this dressed up, this excited, and just so happen to be with a professional photographer again? It may seem like a daunting or unnecessary thing to take a few minutes for, but we promise that it’s so worth it for both parties!

following their first look we all made our way to the restaurant

Jodie & Jordi taking their Tesla rental, of course! Between the picture perfect archway in front of the restaurant with the most vibrant and full flowers, to the intimate outdoor ceremony in the patio, to the incredible, mouthwatering, and delicious dinner (do yourself a favour and try the ravioli!!), everything about the rest of the day was simple and romantic in the best way possible. Having family fly in all the way from Spain it was so lovely for J&J to have one on one time with their guests to both catch up and celebrate, and the understated beauty of Auberge was the perfect backdrop for everything.

The restaurant is in an interesting location in that there isn’t a lot around it for photos. And being right by the 401 and at Yonge/York Mills it’s also a busy neighbourhood. Having scouted the area in advance we found a little trail near by that we took a quick walk to shoot some portraits there for a change in scenery and a little privacy post-ceremony while everyone else enjoyed the cocktail hour.
