Jessica & Jose's Chinatown Elopement

we love couples who have been together a lifetime

And Jessica & Jose are those people! They met about a decade ago in China, both while teaching there. Jessica is from Canada, Jose from Spain, and after a little bit of this and little bit of that they both landed in Toronto, still teachers, with their own place together, and a cat, and now married!

This is one of the many City Hall weddings we had this season and it is truly one of my most favourite ceremonies! We’re the first to say that we’re not a fan of the chambers; we always suggest getting out of there as soon as possible and saving group photos for the outdoors (read: anywhere but in there lol). I now can’t remember exactly what time the ceremony was at but it was a clear day, the sun was low, and it actually looked— dare I say— nice in there!

Following the ceremony we headed to Osgoode Hall for family photos and a few portraits, before Jessica, Jose, and I, separately made our way to Chinatown. We walked across Queen Street from City Hall, stopped in at graffiti alley, ran into one of their friends, and then worked our way towards Chinatown. Having met and taught there for so long China represented a large part of their relationship and it was important to have that represented in their photos at this milestone event.
