Asha & Mike's Front Yard Wedding in North Vancouver

apart from being in a new province, this wedding was one of the most unique we have ever shot!

I don’t think Asha & Mike could have made this wedding any more casual if they tried. It was the perfect blend of familiarity, thoughtfulness, intimate, unpretentiousness, really truly just a gathering to celebrate their love. Living in Toronto themselves they left most of the planning to their family and friends in Vancouver starting with the location; Asha’s family has been getting married at various family members houses for quite some time so it was super special for Asha to continue that tradition at her aunt and uncles house in New Westminster.

They had a DIY bouquet table from locally grown and foraged flowers, temporary tattoos, and cushions and blankets for everyone to make themselves comfortable throughout the ceremony. Which speaking of, they walked the block into their ceremony together, and said their vows right on the front porch! After some finger foods, mingling, and speeches in the backyard everyone took a brief intermission (read: went back to our AirBnB and took a nap) before meeting up at Cate’s Park, near Deep Cove, where everyone swam, drank, and ate until the sun went down (and thereafter too!). It was truly such a beautiful and perfect day and we were so honoured to have been there.

With all of this said, we are so excited to share that we are officially taking bookings in BC for July 10-August 6, 2024. We would love to shoot your wedding / elopement, engagement, or family session with you! Get in touch for more information!
