A Fun Surprise Birthday Party on St. Clair West

Is there anything more heartwarming than spending a snowy night eating delicious food by candlelight and celebrating a surprise birthday party?

This isn’t something I knew I needed until it happened, and when it did- it was magical! We got a last minute (hello, our speciality!) call to photograph a surprise birthday party for Gaby’s uncle- she described it as intimate party with good food. Those are pretty much our favourite buzzwords so how could we say no?! The night of the party ended up being the first time it snowed (and stuck to the ground) in the city so the streets were hectic, but when we finally arrived at Nodo Restaurant, it was warm, cozy, and the smell of fresh Italian food filled the air!

Andre (the guest of honour) had family from all over come in to celebrate his 70th birthday and when he finally arrived he was truly delighted and stunned! The whole night I kept hearing him say “I NEVER would have guessed this! I’m so happy! All of my family!!”

Scott & Julian serenaded everyone throughout dinner, and they even let Andre play a beautiful solo on the piano. Nodo provided the most delicious drinks and family style food for everyone to eat, and no birthday would be complete without cake… well 2 in this case, with one saying 35 +35 (note to my future husband: write that on my cake when my 70th rolls around!).
